Frost ......

Frost on the ground today ....
When the sun comes, it will go away .....
Only to return another day .....
And soon it will be here to stay.
I am very saddened by the loss of a fellow artisan.
Linda our Prairie Rose has passed away ..... She will be missed by many and at the Old Farmhouse.

Invitation ......

As of December 31, 2009 I will no longer be selling on a regular basis at Etsy or Ebay. Here is why .... the past 6 sales or should I say non sales is the reason. I'm just going to give you a few things that has happened. On Ebay after my auction ends I get e mails ..... "your item did not sell will you take x amount for it" Nope! Etsy the past 5 sales I have made through them I have never been paid for. So I have to email and re email only to find out that they are not going to answer, and I am wasting my time. Which is one thing I cannot afford to do. So now it is up to me to either contact Etsy and get my listing fee back and sale charges off, or do I leave them and leave negative feedback so other sellers can see what has happened to me? More trouble in these times than I want to think about! And I understand ... really I do. My prices are fair enough ... at least I think they are. If you want something contact me ...we can work out a payment or layaway ... but no they don't. So until things change (economically) I will resist selling on those sites.
So I invite you to my selling blog ...take a look and tell me your thoughts! Just click on the link to the right. I will still have this blog ... Thanks!
**** Note **** I have let Etsy know as well as Ebay .... It has also happened on Artfire, my one and only sale was a dead beat. I have done everything right .... I am truly happy for those of you who have not had to go through this and hope that you never will. I cannot stop it from happening. So I can only control what I do. And I feel this is the right thing to do for me.

Pictures from the 1930's

AND WE THINK WE'VE GOT IT BAD
Makes complaining about no cell service, high gasoline prices, not enough cable channels, and so on, all seem a bit ludicrous.
I am reminded to be grateful for what I have . How about you??

The Winner is ......

The winner is Mary Isabella and Kiley too! Congratulations! Let me know where I can send your Christmas Cone!
So here is Give Away #3 ..... And the last one of the year! A plain and simple Angel ornament or cupboard hanger made from muslin that has been stained. I just love the feel of her, she is so soft. She is completely ragged stuffed and a floss loop on her back for hangin'.... Plain and Primitive.
So you all know what to do again .... but I'm gonna tell ya anyway, all you have to do is be a blogger and leave me a comment on this post and let me know that you would like an entry. Link my site to your blog and you will get an additional entry just let me know that you posted a link. And that's it. The last date to enter this one will December 6, 2009. Drawing will be December 7, 2009. And I will announce the winner on my blog. So check for your name. Good Luck! U. S. residents only.
Merry Christmas!
